Pheu Thai Announces 11-Party Coalition

PRESS RELEASE:

The Pheu Thai Party has announced the final 11-party composition of its coalition government. The coalition includes key parties from the previous government.

The new alliance notably incorporates both the Palang Pracharath and United Thai Nation parties, key political players in the previous government, against which the Pheu Thai Party campaigned vigorously.

During a press conference at Pheu Thai headquarters in Bangkok, the coalition stated that it would not pursue any amendments to the Lese Majeste law. Pheu Thai Party leader Dr Chonlanan Srikaew revealed that all parties reached a mutual agreement to adopt policies introduced by the Pheu Thai Party as the main government strategies.

They include the Digital Wallet campaign, occupational land policy, minimum wage adjustment to 600 baht per day by 2027, a starting wage of 25,000 baht per month for bachelor’s degree graduates, a voluntary military service system, price increases for farm products, peace promotion in the southern border provinces, medical applications for cannabis, and constitutional amendments.

Dr Chonlanan, who has previously said he would resign from his party leader position if Pheu Thai partners with Palang Pracharath and United Thai Nation, confirmed that he would step down once the new Pheu Thai -led coalition is successfully formed.

The coalition’s ministerial and deputy ministerial appointments are expected to include 8 positions for Pheu Thai, 4 for Bhumjaithai, 2 each for Palang Pracharath and United Thai Nation, and 1 each for Chart Thai Pattana and Prachachat. The Pheu Thai Party has announced the final 11-party composition of its coalition government.
