Social Media “Outraged” Over Erotic Show in Pattaya

Pattaya –

Social media has shown concerns, with some netizens claiming they are outraged, after a woman posted on social media inviting people to watch an erotic show at a night club in Pattaya.

A woman identified only as ‘Kat’ posted on her personal Facebook page inviting people to watch her erotic show with a man at a night club (NEW SEASON 88) in Pattaya on Friday (August 25th) with a video clip of a prior erotic show.

In the video clip, the woman was wearing a bikini and a man was wearing under while doing erotic behaviors. The night club is located on the Pattaya Third Road in North Pattaya.

Many social media users claimed they were concerned that the video clip is pornographic, although The Pattaya News notes there was no nudity in the clip or sexual actions. Some users even claimed the clip might violate the Computer Crimes Act. The video clip is not suitable for younger social media users, also claimed netizens. The Pattaya News notes, however, that it is unclear why a young social media user would be browsing a nightclub page meant for adults and that the venue in question is strictly for those over the legal age of twenty.

Finally, some netizens claimed the video and erotic shows hurt what they call the excellent reputation of Pattaya as a world-class family friendly tourism city. The Pattaya News notes that Pattaya has an extensive nightlife industry for legal adults that is widely popular and a major driver of the local economy, although some conservative and religious members of society are opposed to it.

The actual video clip, as it could potentially violate the computer crimes act, will not be shared in this article but was widely available online. To be fair, many netizens said the clip was “tame” and that one could see much worse on prime time television or daytime Thai soap operas and questioned what the controversy was as the venue was intended for adults.

Note: Generic landscape stock photo used due to the original material from the venue being potentially offensive to some readers.
