Song Khla –

One person died and nine people sustained injuries after a tour minivan collided with a truck near Hat Yai.

Emergency responders were notified of the accident on Sunday (September 17th) on the Lop Buri Ramet Road in Baan Kok Mao, Tha Chang sub-district.

They arrived at the scene to find the overturned minivan on the road. An unidentified woman inside the minivan was later pronounced dead at a local hospital while another nine people had sustained various injuries. The minivan driver, whose name was withheld by police, was unharmed.

Witnesses at the scene said the minivan was in front of the truck and suddenly changed lanes.

The minivan driver said he was carrying 10 passengers travelling to Song Khla but blamed the accident on not being familiar with the area and not his driving skills or quick lane change.

As of press time legal challenges had not been filed in relation to the accident.
