Wanted Man for Alleged Phone Scam Operations Arrested at Thai Border to Cambodia

At Aranyaprathet Border Checkpoint, Sa Kaeo Province, Royal Thai Immigration officers and relevant agencies captured a wanted man identified only as Mr. Sorasin, 21 years old, allegedly involved in phone scam operations by opening mule bank accounts.

Mr. Sorasin was leaving Thailand in the hope of working with phone scammers in Poi Pet City, Cambodia, before being apprehended at the border checkpoint said Thai Immigration. However, there was also an arrest warrant for Mr. Sorasin from Amnat Charoen Provincial Court for disseminating false information via computer systems.

In a further investigation, the officers found out that Mr. Sorasin had another 2 arrest warrants from Ang Thong Provincial Court and Yala Provincial Court. Mr. Sorasin later admitted that he was hired to open mule accounts for phone scammers and was about to leave for work to Poi Pet City.

Consequently, Mr. Sorasin was interrogated and escorted to Lue Amnat Police Station, Ubon Ratchathani Province, to be held accountable for his crimes.
