Bangkok Man Arrested for Taking Upskirt Photos of Over 400 Women

Bangkok —

A 29-year-old Thai man was arrested on Sunday, October 1st, for allegedly taking upskirt photos of over 430 women in Bangkok, including students.

Tass “Title” Sameupak, 29, was apprehended at his residence in the Ngamwongwan area by Metropolitan Police officers and Police Cyber Taskforce Team 5.

The authorities examined the accused’s phone and reportedly found over 873 recordings of obscene films taken under women’s skirts. They believed there were over 430 women, 160 of which were students, who had fallen victim to the suspect.

According to the Criminal Court’s arrest warrant, the accused faced charges of “Committing an offense against a person over fifteen years of age by threatening or using any form of violence when the person is unable to resist, and recording such actions for personal or others’ benefit, with the intent to harass, intimidate, or cause embarrassment or discomfort in public places.”

Mr. Sameupak reportedly admitted to specifically choosing victims who wore skirts. He followed them discreetly and used his phone to film under their skirts, with most of the women not realizing about his actions.

He further confessed that he had been committing the offense for 7 years as he had no job, focusing on women browsing in department stores and those walking on flyovers.

The accused said he did not care about surveillance cameras because he was confident in his stealthy skills, which was ironic as he had been arrested and caught.

Mr. Sameupak was taken to the Pathumwan Police Station, along with the seized evidence, to be prosecuted.
