Spanish Tourists Praise Thai Police for Retrieving Their Lost Camera

Bangkok —

A Spanish tourist and his wife were highly thankful for Don Mueang Police after the officers helped them retrieve their lost camera that stored photos of their vacation.

Mr. Denison Mendes, a Spanish tourist, shed tears of joy when the police at the Don Mueang Police Station in Bangkok returned his bag, which contained a camera and a hard drive that he had lost on September 7th, 2023. Pol Lt Col Phattharasaya Rerkrat captured this heartwarming moment and shared it in a video on TikTok under the username @vikkipatara.

According to the video, Mr. Denison lost his belongings in a taxi he had taken from a bus stop located in front of the Sombat Tour Company at the mouth of Vibhavadi Rangsit Soi 13, to head for Don Mueang International Airport.

Mr. Denison narrated that he and his girlfriend only realized that they had forgotten their Nikon camera, two lenses, and a hard drive in the boot of the taxi after exiting the vehicle at the airport around 6:15 AM.

Subsequently, the couple reported their plight at the Don Mueang Police Station, citing the camera was very important to them because it stored photos of their long vacation.

Don Mueang Police coordinated with the CCTV center of the Department of Land Transport to locate the taxi. Later they managed to identify the driver, who was only named as Mr. Supoj. The cabbie immediately made his way to the Don Mueang Police Station after learning of the tourists’ lost belongings in his trunk.

On September 28th, Mr. Denison and his wife returned to the station to retrieve their items.

In Pol Lt Col Phattharasaya’s Tiktok video, the tourists expressed their gratitude, stating, “Thai police are the best cops in the world.”

They continued, “When I return to Spain, I will speak to the embassy to let them know about the good things you have done for people in Spain to hear.”
