Now for the update:

The Karon Police told the Phuket Express that a 35-year-old Tunisian man who they have not identified was with a Chinese woman on Friday (October 6th) at a hotel in Karon when she fell to her death. Hotel staffers told police that they heard some noise and they saw that the foreign man was holding the Chinese woman by her leg from a balcony on the 10th floor before the woman fell down.

The Karon Police told the Phuket Express that the 35-year-old Tunisian man entered Thailand legally to work with a work permit. The Tunisian man told police that he was the Chinese woman’s ex-boyfriend. They had dinner and drank some alcohol at the hotel and the Chinese woman allegedly told him that she wanted to die.

While they were in the hotel room, the Tunisian man said he went to the bathroom and the Chinese woman went to the balcony and seemed about to jump down. He stopped her and took her back into the room to talk to her before she calmed down.

One hour later the Tunisian man told police that she ran to the balcony again. The man quickly ran after her and managed to grab her leg but he was unable to pull her back onto the balcony. She fell down to the ground before he called for help.

Karon police stated the man was being cooperative and they were reviewing CCTV to confirm his story.
