Thai National Police Council Urges Further Action on Illegal Online Gambling

National—

The Police Committee and Council filed a petition to Thai authorities on major online gambling sites accessible easily to everyone in Thailand.

At 10:00 AM, on October 19th, 2023, Mr. Chaichana Dechdecho, the Chairman of the Police Committee and Council, filed an investigative complaint to the Representative of the Royal Thai Police Commander, the Central Investigation Bureau officials, and other relevant officials about the proliferation of online gambling.

At present, there are mule accounts and seven major online gambling sites in Thailand, for example, FAFA666, immi99, SUSURUN, UFABET, 777THB, UNSEENBET, and Phostreet. However, such websites also have extended networks such as mule accounts, cloned URLs, and LINE IDS.

With such important issues, the Police Committee and Council emphasized the relevant agencies to investigate and clarify the issues to the Police Committee and Council within 15 days because it potentially caused a negative impact on the Thai economy for hundreds of millions of baht per year due to online gambling websites, which are strictly illegal in Thailand.

Meanwhile, Chaichana publicly announced that, after this, the Police Committee and Council would file another complaint to the Royal Thai Police to track down with the assistance of INTERPOL three alleged mastermind fugitives in England and Myanmar involved in online gambling sites that are currently accessible to the public.
“Furthermore, the Police Committee and Council would submit an urgent inquiry to Thai Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin to inquire about prevention and suppression measures for online gambling issues accordingly,” said Chaichana.
