Samut Prakan —

A brawl involving more than 10 Thai youth broke out at an entertainment venue in the Paknam sub-district, Samut Prakan province, on Saturday night, December 2nd, resulting in injuries to 9 people.

The incident occurred at around 12:30 AM near “The Moon” nightclub, located along Phraeksa Road in the Mueang district of Samut Prakan province. According to the Bang Poo police report, two groups of young men started arguing inside the club. Security personnel intervened and asked both groups to leave to avoid disrupting other customers. However, the two groups refused to comply and continued the altercation in the parking area behind the venue.

The brawl involved over 10 individuals, who used both fists and knives. Nine people were injured in the altercation, including one person with a severe stab wound. A nightclub staff member, Mr. Phanthakarn Angkanawarakun, 29, was also injured in the brawl, suffering a knife wound to his right arm during his attempt to break up the fight.

Police detained some of the individuals involved in the brawl, who were not immediately identified, and took them to the Bang Poo Police Station for questioning. Preliminary investigations revealed that all the detained suspects are Thai males aged between 20 and 25.

It was also noted that, according to information from the nightclub, similar altercations had occurred frequently in the past three months, almost on a daily basis. Despite this, there had been no preventive measures or inspections by relevant authorities, the nightclub claimed.

Bang Poo police are currently investigating the incident and are considering taking legal action against the individuals involved.
