Hot Coffee Spilling on a Passenger on a Thai Airways Flight Leads to a Public Apology

National—

On December 10th, 2023, Thai Airways International PCL publicly apologized to a Thai passenger as one of the flight attendants spilled hot coffee over him on December 8th.

Thai Airways International sincerely apologized to the passenger on a flight from Bangkok (BKK) to Chiang Mai (CNX), who suffered scalding from a hot coffee spill and sought immediate medical treatment.

The company said they were concerned about the incident and is actively coordinating with the passenger in detail on the medical treatment process and medical expenses. Regarding the investigation of the incident, the company is adhering to relevant regulations and will keep the passenger informed of the progress.

Additionally, Thai Airways aims to rectify any issues or shortcomings discovered in the service to prevent future incidents to other passengers.

The passenger was not publicly identified by Thai Airways but the incident went viral after the passenger had taken to social media after initially allegedly being told by an unidentified flight attendant that no CCTV recorded the incident and that the airline wasn’t responsible.

This came after the passenger had sought assistance directly from the flight crew on their flight. It was unclear if the fight attendant would be disciplined.
