On December 11th, 2023, Mueang Khon Kaen police officers investigated Mr. Somluck Kamsing’s case, a former gold medal-winning amateur boxer, for allegedly taking a 17-year-old girl into a hotel in Khon Kaen.
Thai media reported that Mueang Khon Kaen inquiry officers issued a summons for Somluck to be interrogated regarding the allegation.
Somluck reportedly confirmed the date on December 12th that he would visit the Mueang Khon Kaen police station and clarify the situation and allegations against him.
Somluck has said he is entirely innocent and that he did nothing with the minor and has not been formally charged as of press time.
Furthermore, the police investigated witnesses and escorted the 17-year-old victim to a children’s and women’s home in Khon Kaen for interrogation by relevant agencies.
Initially, the police officers would gather further evidence from local CCTV footage and perform an investigation on the entertainment venue that allegedly provided services to minors under 20 years old while continuing to look into the allegations against Kamsing.
