Bangkok—
At 6:00 PM, on December 11th, 2023, more than 50 Thai special operations police officers enclosed the house of a military doctor who went wild shooting randomly at villagers in the Srinakarin Road area, Bang Kaeo, Bangkok.
According to a report by police officers, the unidentified military doctor currently worked at a hospital in Bangkok and used to serve the military in the 3 southern border provinces of Thailand.
Pol. Maj. Gen. Wichit Bunchinwuthikul, the Samut Prakan Police Commander, went to the incident scene and emphasized negotiations, and strictly prohibited the use of bullets if not necessary.
Furthermore, the police contacted relatives and the personal doctor to persuade the unidentified military doctor to surrender.
According to a report by Samut Prakan reporters, the police were able to control the situation as the suspect surrendered after 6 hours of enclosing and negotiation.
However, an unidentified contractor stated to the police that his team was working on swimming pool maintenance at the village. Meanwhile, the suspect reportedly shot three rounds of bullets at them and shouted “Annoying noises”, said the contractor. The contractor then reported the story to the police officers.
Luckily, there were no injuries or casualties reported, and no further details regarding any legal action from the police or if the doctor would be investigated for possible psychiatric problems or disorders.
