At 11:00 PM, on December 13th, 2023, Mr. Somluck Kamsing, a former gold medal-winning amateur boxer, spoke to police about the allegations of taking a 17-year-old girl to a hotel in Khon Kaen.

Read about the recent scandal on the former gold medal-winning amateur boxer allegedly taking a 17-year-old girl to the hotel in Khon Kaen.

The Khon Kaen police pressed charges of 1.) Abducting a minor under the age of 15 but not exceeding 18 from their guardian, 2.) Taking a person under the age of 15 but not exceeding 18 for indecent acts, 3.) Committing indecent acts against a person under the age of 18 through the use of force, and 4.) Attempting to coerce others into indecent acts through the use of force.

Somluck reportedly stated to Thai media that he apologized to Thai people, his family, and the victim’s family regarding the incident as he did not know that the victim was 17 years old. If he had known that the victim was a minor, there would not have been such an incident, said Somluck.

Somluck publicly revealed without apparent worry to Thai media that he denied all four allegations against him and vowed to fight until the end, bringing up the fact that the victim had allegedly used a photo of a fake ID to enter a nightclub that only allows people 20 and up to enter.

Meanwhile, police officers gathered DNA evidence from Somluck and conducted a body examination on the victim for further investigation of the ongoing case.

In related news, the Thai Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Anutin Charnvirakul issued an order for bars and entertainment venues to strengthen their ID checks for entry, only taking original ID’s and not accepting copies or photos on phones for entry.
