Songkhla Subdistrict Mayor Assassinated, Police Suspect a Professional Hitman was Involved

Songkhla—

At 9:00 PM, on December 14th, 2023, Huai Pling police officers received a murder report regarding Mr. Adul Khan, a 58-year-old Mayor of Tha Muang Subdistrict, in Thepha, Songkhla.

Huai Pling police officers and relevant officers performed a field inspection at 10:00 AM, on December 15th, as the area was reported as a dangerous zone in south Thailand, and interrogated an unidentified witness.
During the incident, the mayor was downstairs while an unidentified suspect allegedly shot 7 to 8 rounds of bullets at the mayor before fleeing, said the unidentified witness to the police.

Initially, the police speculated the incident was regarding local politics and construction businesses. Furthermore, there was reportedly a legitimate death threat made to the victim before as unidentified suspects set fire to four of the mayor’s vehicles on October 15th, 2022.

Consequently, the police officers investigated local CCTV footage and gathered evidence at the crime scene to track down the suspects involved in the case. The suspect reportedly was a professional assassin as there were no bullet shells left at the crime scene, said the police.
