Thai Police Raids Uncover 10 Million Baht Illegal E-Cigarette Operation in Bangkok, Suspect Detained

Bangkok—

On December 14th, 2023, Thai Anti-Trafficking In Persons (ATP) officers launched a raid operation on two locations in Bang Kho Laem and Bueng Kum, Bangkok, and confiscated illegal e-cigarettes worth more than 10 million baht.

According to a report by ATP officers, a suspect who was publicly identified only as Mr. Jenkit, 32, allegedly sold e-cigarettes and other equipment on the Facebook platform. The ATP officers investigated further and found out that the illegal sale of e-cigarettes had Jenkit as the boss who had a financial income of over 100 million baht in his account.

Furthermore, it was reported that the e-cigarette network frequently relocated the warehouses to avoid police arrest. However, the officers discovered the distribution centers and requested search warrants from the criminal court.

As a result, the police could confiscate e-cigarettes, e-cigarette liquid, and other equipment with a total of 70,000 units stored in the warehouses worth more than 10 million baht. Jenkit reportedly declared his ownership of the warehouses.

Initially, the ATP officers escorted Jenkit with the property in dispute for further legal processing and pledged to hold involved individuals accountable for their crimes.
