Chiang Mai Venue Busted for Serving Minors

Chiang Mai—

At 11:30 PM, on December 22nd, 2023, Chang Phueak police officers received a report from an anonymous source regarding an entertainment venue on Huai Kaew Road providing services to minors under the age of 20 in Mueang Chiang Mai, Chiang Mai.

According to a report by the police, the reported establishment was open for service to many visitors drinking and enjoying the music. The police then asked to turn the music off and performed an inspection of the ID card and found out that more than 52 individuals were under the age of 20.

The police officers then recorded the minors’ profiles and neither illicit substances were found in the blood system of the visitors nor inside the establishment. Furthermore, the establishment had no valid license to provide services, said the police.
Consequently, the police took hold of the manager who was publicly identified only as Mr. Prasit, 54, and pressed charges of selling alcoholic beverages to persons under 20 years of age and providing services without a valid license from a competent official.
Initially, Prasit reportedly confessed to all charges and was escorted to the Chang Phueak police station for further legal proceedings.
