Suvarnabhumi Airport Gears Up for Surge in New Year Flights, Offers Free Parking for Travelers

On December 28th, 2023, Dr. Keerati Kitmanawat, the president of Airports of Thailand Co Ltd., and relevant agencies performed an inspection of readiness at Suvarnabhumi Airport on incoming tourists during the New Year celebrations for 2024.

Dr. Keerati reportedly anticipated an increasing number of flights from December 29th of 2023 to January 4th of 2024 at Suvarnabhumi Airport with a total of 6,777 flights, divided into 5,069 international flights and 1,708 domestic flights. It was reported that the number had increased by more than 16.76% compared to the previous year during the same period.

Moreover, an increasing number of passengers checking in and out at Suvarnabhumi Airport would be reportedly a total of 1,245,437 individuals which increased more than 26.58% compared to the previous year during the same period, anticipated Dr. Keerati.

Suvarnabhumi Airport officials integrated work with relevant agencies and coordinated with airlines to prepare more passenger check-in officers and passport inspection officers. Common Use Self Service (CUSS) and Common Use Bag Drop (CUBD) systems are also advised to facilitate passengers with self-service check-in.

However, Suvarnabhumi Airport will also provide free parking spaces for long-term parking with a total of 718 units at the Zone C parking lot from 12:01 AM on December 29th, 2023 to 12:00 AM on January 1st, 2024. Shuttle buses will be available for free every 15 minutes.
