Krabi Tourism Soars: Over 3.4 Million Visitors in 2023, Anticipates 1 Billion Baht Revenue During New Year Celebrations

On December 30th, 2023, Mr. Aman Madadam, the director of TAT’s Krabi office, publicly revealed the Krabi Tourism situation in 2023. It was reported that from January to November, more than 3.4 million tourists visited Krabi.

According to the statistics by Aman, there were 1,916,307 Thai tourists and 1,495,609 foreign tourists. The average hotel occupancy rate was 67.79%, resulting in a total generated income from tourism of 26 billion baht.

The director of TAT’s Krabi office further added that during New Year celebrations, many people paid a visit to Krabi in many areas such as Phi Phi Island, Railay Bay, Ao Nang, and especially Maya Bay where over 6,000 tourists visited daily, generating over 2 million baht.

Krabi province officials and relevant agencies ensured the safety of the lives and property of the tourists during New Year celebrations. It was estimated that more than 60,000 tourists would visit Krabi and other tourist attractions, generating over 1 billion baht during the New Year holidays, remarked the director of TAT’s Krabi office.
