Thaksin’s Parole Unlikely to Impact Politics: Pheu Thai

PRESS RELEASE:

Deputy Pheu Thai Party leader Chusak Sirinil has stated that the pending parole of former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra would not affect the political landscape.

He mentioned that the government is performing its duties, and the Prime Minister is fully functioning, implying no significant changes as analyzed by many political analysts.

Chusak reiterated the Pheu Thai Party’s stance that criticism is acceptable but everything should be within the framework of the law to avoid creating division or discord.

Regarding comments that Thaksin’s return would strengthen the Pheu Thai Party, Chusak said the party must be strong and stand on the knowledge and abilities of its existing personnel. However, he admitted that Thaksin is a unifying figure for everyone in the Pheu Thai Party.

As for whether Thaksin’s parole would lead to social conflicts, Chusak said that it should be a matter for the judicial process, which is currently ongoing.
