Renowned Thai Artist Chalermchai Kositpipat Officially Retires on His 69th Birthday, Urges Privacy for Retirement Life

On February 15th, 2024, Master Chalermchai Kositpipat, the Thai visual artist who designed and constructed the White Temple, publicly announced his official retirement as a professional artist on his 69th birthday on social media.

Master Chalermchai publicly stated that this was an official announcement on his 69th birthday and pleaded no one should interrupt his retirement life. He has quit doing artist-related works from now on whether as an art critic or a representative to any organization.

Furthermore, Master Chalermchai emphasized that in his retirement life that he wanted to travel with his motorbike and live peacefully in his world without being interrupted.

“I wanted to do whatever I wanted before I could no longer. This is what I want. Do not invite me to any event, if you love me, please leave me alone,” remarked Master Chalermchai.

After the video was posted on social media, many Thai netizens commented regretfully about his retirement but wished him a happy birthday and a happy retirement life in privacy, according to Thai national media.
