British Runner Completes 2,100 KM Fundraising Run Across Thailand, Raises Over 140,000 Baht for Orphans and Impoverished Schools in Thailand

On February 29th, 2024, Thai national media reported a British runner, Mr. Chris Russell, completed his fundraising campaign “Run Thailand 2,100 KM” from Mae Sai, Chiang Rai, to Betong, Yala, to aid orphans and impoverished schools in Thailand.

Chris completed his ultra-marathon journey from the northernmost to southernmost points of Thailand in 50 days, starting on January 10th, 2024, and fundraised more than 140,000 baht. Chris reported that he donated all the money from his run to orphans and impoverished schools across Thailand.

According to Chris’s post, he had vast appreciation on social media as he received support from people along the way on his journey and made a stop at night where he seemed fit. After he reached his final destination in Betong, Chris was treated with great care by a resort owner as he was given a room for free.

Furthermore, Chris stated that after this he would return to Bangkok after traveling to Malaysia for relaxation.
