A Swiss Expat has been charged with bodily and mind harm after he allegedly kicked a female doctor near his rented villa in Thalang.

Our previous story:

A doctor was allegedly kicked and verbally assaulted by a foreign man and his Thai wife near a villa at a beach in Pa Klok.

A video of the incident can be seen here. It contains harsh language that could offend sensitive viewers.

A Swiss expat and his Thai wife have apologized to a Thai doctor and the Thai people for a viral kicking incident but the Swiss man still insists he slipped and the kick wasn’t on purpose.

Phuket officials have ordered the majority of the stairs involved in the incident to be removed as they state they illegally encroached on the beach.

Now for the update:

On Friday (March 1st) Mr. Urs Beat Fehr (Mr. David), 45, presented himself at the Thalang Police Station after being summoned over the legal situation involving the viral incident.

The Thalang Police Deputy Chief Colonel Anukun Nooket told the Phuket Express that David has been charged with bodily and mind harm. He is being accused of allegedly kicking a female doctor, Tandao Jandam, 26, who is a doctor at a private hospital in Phuket. She had been sitting on the bottom of steps on a public beach leading to his villa when the incident happened.

The steps have since been deemed by Phuket officials public land and encroaching on the beach.

Mr. David had agreed to follow the law process and has been temporarily released on bail without collateral. He has apologized for the incident but also insists he didn’t intend to kick the woman but says he “slipped” while shouting at her to get off what he claimed was his property.

David claimed he had previous trouble with other intruders on his property and used vulgarities and was angry due to fear for his wife’s safety, despite the victim’s being two young Thai women calmly sitting peacefully on the steps watching the beach.
