Bangkok Ranked Top City in Asia Pacific for Tourism in 2024 by DestinAsian Magazine

On March 25th, 2024, Mr. Chai Watcharong, the Thai Government spokesman, publicly revealed Bangkok was ranked number one in Best Cities 2024 in the Asia Pacific region as a tourist destination according to travel magazine “DestinAsian.”

The ranking was awarded by readers from DestinAsian. The ranking was classified into various categories such as the tourist destinations in cities, islands, hotels and resorts, airlines, airports, and cruises, stated Chai.

The DestinAsian also ranked Phuket and Koh Samui as number three and four spots in the Island category, respectively. Moreover, Suvarnabhumi Airport was ranked as the second best airport, and Thai Airways was ranked in third place as the best airline, and the best low-cost airlines category ranked Bangkok Airways in second place.

Thai Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin envisioned tourism and tourism-related industries in 8 areas, such as the aviation hub, food hub, medical, and health hub. The Thai government aimed to foster Thailand into number one in the region in tourism and other tourism-related industries, according to Chai.

Recently, Thailand aimed to organize international entertainment in Thailand as a festival hub to boost Thai tourism and economy rapidly.
