Bangkok—

At 8:30 AM, on March 28th, 2024, Eastern Bangkok Monorail (EBM) Co Ltd., publicly revealed a recent incident regarding parts of the conductor rail from the Yellow Line electric train that were found scattered on the road between Kalantan station-Suan Luang Rama 9 Station, Bangkok.

According to EBM, parts of the Yellow Line’s conductor rail reportedly fell from the railway to the ground below, causing two vehicles and one motorbike to be damaged. However, there were no injuries reported.

As a result, the Yellow Line electric train was temporarily out of service for the entire system. Initially, all passengers were requested to evacuate from the train down to the railway. The Yellow Line officers reportedly prepared public buses for all passengers and refunded their transportation fares accordingly.

Upon initial investigation, EBM publicly revealed that an internal mounting device of the electrical distribution rail was damaged and loosened, causing parts to scatter on the road. As a result, the train was no longer able to provide service.
