Bangkok—
At 2:50 PM, on April 1st, 2024, Samre police officers received a fatal accident report of a big bike colliding with a smaller motorbike on Charoen Nakhon Road, Khlong San, Bangkok.
Samre police and emergency services were dispatched to the accident scene on Charoen Nakhon Road and found a green big bike in severe condition having crashed in front of a white pickup truck in the opposite lane.
Nearby, an unidentified foreign big bike rider suffered a serious injury to his leg and was unconscious under the white pickup truck, according to the emergency services. However, the foreign big bike rider was pronounced dead shortly after at the accident scene.
An unidentified Thai man was found unconscious near a smaller blue motorbike, the rescue teams performed first aid before transferring the wounded to Charoenkrung Hospital for immediate medical treatment.
According to the white pickup truck driver, Mr. Watcharaphon Pansuk, 42, he told the police that the blue motorbike was leaving a Soi at the accident scene. However, the green big bike rider was coming at high speed and accidentally collided with the blue motorbike, causing the big bike rider to fly to the opposite lane and land in front of Watcharaphon’s truck.
Initially, the foreign big bike rider carried no documentation, and only a copy of the big bike registration was found under the name of Mr. Nicholas, whose last name was withheld by TPN, a 70-year-old British-American. The police drew an assumption that Nicholas might be the big bike rider’s relative as the victim was much younger than 70.
However, the police would investigate to determine whether Nicholas was a relative to the victim or not before contacting the victim’s family or relative to retrieve the body for further religious rituals.
