Thai Authorities Seize 112,240 Counterfeit Construction Tools Worth 10 Million Baht in Nakhon Pathom and Bangkok

Nakhon Pathom—

On April 10th, 2024, the Thai Consumer Protection Police Division (CPPD) and relevant agencies held a press conference on a raid operation on illegal construction tool distribution centers in five different locations in Bangkok and Nakhon Pathom.

According to the CPPD, the officers received a report from an anonymous source that a warehouse in Sam Phran, Nakhon Pathom, allegedly stored counterfeit construction tools of well-known brands and displayed Thai Industrial Standard (TIS) marks without permission.

The officers then investigated the case and gathered evidence before requesting a search warrant from the court. Upon the searches at a commercial building, the owner’s residence, and four other warehouses, the officers were able to confiscate 112,240 units of counterfeit construction tools with an estimated value of 10 million baht.

According to the CPPD officers, the seized counterfeit tools were not authorized by TIS and could potentially cause harm to users or consumers. The officers would conduct a further investigation as the products were distributed to other stores nationwide.

The CPPD officers pledged to expedite the collection of evidence and official examination results to prosecute those involved individuals.
