Three Teenagers Allegedly Shoot at Taxi After Road Dispute, Injuring Two Children in Pathum Thani

Pathum Thani—

At 10:00 AM, on April 16th, 2024, Mueang Pathum Thani police officers publicly revealed a case detail of three teenagers allegedly shooting at a taxi after a road dispute in Mueang, Pathum Thani. As a result, a 10-year-old boy and a 7-year-old girl were injured.

Upon the police interrogation of the taxi driver, Mr. Suraphon, 51, told the police that he had headed out on Pathum Road, Mueang Pathum Thani, to this residence. However, he reportedly carried five other grandchildren aged between 3 to 12.

Suraphon reportedly told the police that when he was at the Rangsit-Pathum Thani Bus Terminal, he encountered three teenagers on a motorbike who allegedly rode recklessly to the left and right on the road. Suraphon then reportedly flashed his headlights to warn them, however, one of the teenagers gave an inappropriate hand sign to the taxi driver at the Pathum Wilai intersection.

In response to the teenagers, Suraphon reportedly shouted at them that if they had a problem, let’s settle this in front of Baan Eua Arthorn Baan Chang Mueang, Pathum Thani. Upon reaching the aforementioned location, the teen group then allegedly shot a round of bullets at the taxi before fleeing away. Suraphon reportedly attempted to follow them but he realized that his grandchildren cried and decided to head home.

As a result, a 10-year-old boy suffered wounds on his wrist and knee, and a 7-year-old girl was injured from a window-glass-cut wound. They both were transferred to Pathum Thani Hospital after the incident.

Mueang Pathum Thani police officers investigated the case and found that a total of three teenagers allegedly had a road dispute with the taxi driver before settling the issue at Baan Eua Arthorn Baan Chang Mueang.

Initially, it was assumed by the police that the suspects might have used an illegal shotgun to commit the crimes. The police pledged to hold the suspects accountable for their crimes as soon as possible as it was an important case due to involving young children.
