According to the police report, the victim, publicly identified only as Ms. Jutharat, a 36-year-old Mercedez Benz owner, was inside her vehicle preparing to head home. A Thai man, publicly identified only as Mr. Kantinan, 46, allegedly used a sharp object to threaten Jutharat asking for her to hand him a car key and valuable items.

However, Jutharat resisted and honked the car’s horn causing the suspect to become startled and then stabbing Jutharat in her left cheek. The suspect reportedly fled empty-handed, according to the police. Jutharat’s current medical status as of press time was not disclosed by police.
At 8:00 PM, Pratunam Chulalongkorn police officers were able to successfully capture Kantinan who reportedly hid inside his white sedan’s trunk at the shopping center. Upon further police investigation, the suspect reportedly confessed to the police that he had financial concerns, gambling debts, was a drug addict, and had a child to take care of which is why he resorted to robbing others.

Kantinan reportedly had previously argued with his wife and left home for three days. The suspect parked his white sedan near the victim’s Benz, stalked her, and used a sharp object to threaten her.

After the failed robbery, the suspect hid inside his own sedan’s trunk and deceived his wife to drive the sedan home while leaving the key for her. However, the suspect’s wife had no parking card, the security then called the police for a search and inspection, leading to the arrest, according to the police.
Initially, the Pratunam Chulalongkorn police pressed charges of physically assaulting and attempting to rob another person at night against Kantinan.
