Chinese Tourist Boat Capsizes After Collision with Navy Ferry at Tha Chang Pier, Bangkok

At 4:49 PM on June 6th, 2024, Praram Radio Center 199 received a report from Bangkok firefighters and water rescue services about a Chinese tourist boat capsizing after colliding with a navy ferry at Tha Chang Pier, Phra Nakhon, Bangkok.

At 4:58 PM, rescue services and relevant agencies promptly arrived at the scene near Tha Chang Pier, finding that the collision had resulted in minor injuries to three Chinese tourists.

The injured tourists were quickly transported to Huachiew Hospital for medical treatment after the rescue. No one was reported missing, and the navy ferry sustained only slight damage.

A recovery mission for the capsized tourist boat is being planned, and the company responsible for the boat has committed to compensating for the damage. The name of the company, however, was not released to the Thai media.

According to Thai national media, the Chinese tourists expressed their gratitude to the tourist police and relevant agencies, impressed by the quick response and efficient operation. Their names were also not released to the press.
