RECAP: Thailand finds 10,919 daily Covid-19 infections with 143 additional deaths, 469,052 new vaccinated people reported nationwide in the past 24 hours

Thailand discovered a total of 10,919 daily Covid-19 infections with 143 additional deaths in the past 24 hours, the Center for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) reported today, September 21st.

The fatalities were 82 men and 61 women with the most numbers recorded in Bangkok with 40. Of that, 134 were Thai nationals, five were Myanmar nationals, two were Lao nationals, and one of each was a Japanese and American national. The age range was between 17 and 93 years old.

Most of them were reported with underlying health conditions, including hypertension (49), diabetes (30), hyperlipidemia (25), obesity (13), and kidney disease (15). Five of the fatalities were bedridden patients.

Of the new cases, 9,846 were found in hospitals and medical services (which includes contact tracing cases), 644 were from a proactive approach at previously reported clusters, 422 were from prisons, and the remaining 7 were imported cases.

A number of 131,655 patients are still under treatment/isolation/medical care. Of that, 3,548 patients are in critical condition including 759 on ventilators. This is roughly 2.69 percent of cases that are critical while 21.3 percent of that is critical enough for a ventilator.

Regarding the non-prison local infections, the highest numbers of patients were reported in Bangkok with 2,561, followed by Samut Prakan with 858, Chonburi with 629, Narathiwas with 379, Ratchaburi with 361, and Yala with 284.

A total number of 469,052 people nationwide have received Covid-19 vaccines in the past 24 hours. Of that, 198,505 people had received their first shots, 270,056 people had received their second shots, and 491 people had received their third shots.

As of today, 11,694 people fully recovered in the past 24 hours and have been released from field hospitals and quarantine centers. Thailand has now reached a total of 1,500,105 cases with 1,352,838 recoveries and a total of 15,612 deaths since the start of the pandemic.
