Thailand discovered a total of 8,444 daily Covid-19 infections with 12 additional deaths in the past 24 hours, the Center for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) reported today, January 30th.
The fatalities were 6 men and 6 women with the highest number recorded in Bangkok with 2. All of them were Thai nationals. The age range was between 55 and 83 years old.
Most of them were reported with underlying health conditions, including hypertension (5), diabetes (5), hyperlipidemia (2), obesity (1), and kidney disease (5). Two of the fatalities were bedridden patients.
Of the new cases, 8,133 were found in hospitals and medical services (which includes contact tracing cases), 54 were from a proactive approach at previously reported clusters, 21 were from prisons, and the remaining 236 were imported cases.
A number of 84,542 patients are still under treatment/isolation/medical care. Of that, 546 patients are in critical condition including 109 on ventilators. This is roughly 0.64 percent of cases that are critical while 19.9 percent of that is critical enough for a ventilator.
Regarding the non-prison local infections, the highest number of patients were reported in Bangkok with 1,271, followed by Samut Prakan with 783, Chonburi with 408, Nonthaburi with 403, Phuket with 360, and Si Saket with 224.
A total number of 379,081 people nationwide have received Covid-19 vaccines in the past 24 hours. Of that, 42,045 people had received their first shots, 59,234 people had received their second shots, and 277,802 people had received their third shots. This is roughly 75.2% of the total Thai population who have had their first shot of a Covid-19 vaccine, 69.9% who have had a second shot and are fully vaccinated, and 20.2% have had a third booster shot.
As of today, 7,829 people fully recovered in the past 24 hours and have been released from field hospitals and quarantine centers. Thailand has now reached a total of 2,432,534 cases with 2,325,835 recoveries and a total of 22,157 deaths since the start of the pandemic.
