King and Queen unveil late King Bhumibol Adulyadej’s statue in Bangkok with thousands of people waiting

Their Royal Majesties the King and Queen who presided over a ceremony today (October 13th) unveiled the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej’s statue at the new Chalerm Phrakiat Park in Dusit district with thousands of people waiting.

Today, October 13th, marks the six-year anniversary of the passing of His Royal Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej (Rama IX) who passed away peacefully in 2016.

Thousands of people who wore yellow shirts arrived at the park from 5:00 A.M. to 3:30 P.M.. The King provided thousands of free meals to people near the area. The King and Queen arrived at the park at 5:00 P.M. before the unveiling ceremony started.

Mrs. Aksornpan Wongsuebpan, 53, told Thai media, “For the past six years we miss our beloved the late King Bhumibol. We are very proud and happy to pay respect to our late King’s statue. He did very hard work for Thai people. I will come to pay respect to him again. We love him. Always in our heart.”
