  1. A 6-year-old Egyptian girl tragically drowned at a waterfall in Mueang Phang Nga.

A 6-year-old Egyptian tourist travelling from Phuket with her family died after she slipped into a waterfall in Phang Nga while having her photo taken by her mother on a bridge.

2. A 59-year-old German man has been pronounced dead after going scuba diving in Phang Nga. His body was taken back to a hospital in Phuket.

His friends reportedly told investigating police that the man went down to 20 meters deep in the sea before coming up onto the boat and taking a rest, seemingly exhausted but not ill.

3. This Friday, July 28th, marks the 71st royal birthday of King Vajiralongkorn, who is Thailand’s current monarch.

4. Passengers on a ferry from Donsak to Samui Island suffered a major scare after the boat engine malfunctioned for more than two hours.

After more than two hours another ferry from Samui heading to Donsak helped to pull the malfunctioned ferry with ropes to Samui.

5. At least ten people have died, 118 people have been injured, and more than 200 families have suffered, many with their homes destroyed, after a fireworks warehouse exploded in the Su-Ngai Kolok district on late Saturday afternoon (July 29th).

The death toll on Monday (July 31st) is up to 12 with 121 injuries and 290 houses damaged.
